Technical Duties

Prepare, check and approve as appropriate, the basic design and engineering of all process, utility and offsite equipment and systems.

Perform onsite activities of pre-commissioning, commissioning, start up and performance test run.

Act as the discipline technical representative in dealings with Clients and Third Parties.

Assist with the preparations of proposals within his area of competence.

Perform the technical and administrative functions of the Process PSL.

Performs standard calculations to ensure the design of a “safe” plant.

Good written and verbal skills in the communication of technical information
People and Activity Management
-
Demonstrates ability to plan, prioritise and complete allocated workload within the allotted man-hours and schedule.

Co-ordinate, supervises and allocates design activities performed by subordinates.
-
Prepares discipline reports for the monitoring of progress, man-hour utilisation, efficiency and manpower requirements.
-
Identifies circumstances which would adversely affect schedules and man-hour consumption.
-
Performs the function of process PSL on projects of moderate complexity.

Acts as mentor to graduate members of the Institute of Chemical Engineers
