Our client provides a portfolio of property and construction related services across a wide range of market sectors. Due to growth within the organisation our client now wishes to appoint an Environment/Sustainability Manager to develop existing environmental management systems to ensure alignment with current legislation and best practice and secure ongoing retention of existing ISO14001 accreditation.
To increase Environment & Sustainability awareness and competence of company staff and other stakeholders via the development and delivery of appropriate educational material.
Purpose of Role:
Provide Visible and Effective Leadership in environment and sustainability across the group of companies by:-
Establishing and maintaining contact with key internal and external contacts on projects.

Project based support advice and auditing

Corporate training, reporting, communication and bid support
-
Being recognised as the primary contact for specialist advice on Environment and Sustainability issues
The post will be based in London however due to nature of role travel will be required throughout the UK
Data inputs
Preparation and delivery of training and information packages

Development and maintenance of Corporate Environmental Management Systems

Undertake Environmental Audits on Projects and Business Units to ensure compliance with EMS / 14001
-
Provide analysis and reporting on performance at all levels

Knowledge and understanding of Environmental legislation and guidance

Conversant with Constructing Excellence, BITC and sustainability objectives and targets

Fully conversant with construction, design and procurement processes.

IT Skills
Qualifications & Experience
Environmental Management Degree or equivalent
-
Core discipline qualification e.g. Chartered Environmentalist or Full Member of IEMA (MIEMA) or equivalent
-
Knowledge of Sustainability in Buildings and Construction
-
Construction industry – experience within principal contractor organisation desirable
Responsibilities &
Key Deliverables:
Develop existing ISO14001 accredited management systems to assure achievement of industry best practice and retention of accreditation

Develop Environment and sustainability management strategies and monitor performance against agreed KPI’s.

Flexible approach - must be able to travel nationwide for various projects.

Liaise with appropriate regulatory authorities
