Sustainability Group
The sustainability group is a central support function to all UK business units, and acts to provide strategic advice, formulate policy and champion environmental and sustainability best practice.
To support the drive to make this a sustainable organisation through influencing behaviours across the business.
To evaluate and monitor performance of construction projects in selected business units, as directed by the Head of Sustainability.
To propose and support processes to embed behaviours that reinforces a sustainability culture across the organisation.
Ensure that statutory/client obligations are met/support the achievement and maintenance of company sustainability certifications.
Support the business in identifying sustainability issues which are business critical, and lead them in addressing these through the development and delivery of a strategy.
Assist in developing & implementing environmental procedures & guidance to ensure the company meets all statutory and client sustainability obligations.
Assist in developing environmental management practices, processes and procedures to ensure retention of existing ISO14001.

Support the design and delivery sustainability learning programmes to ensure that our employees have the necessary practical skills to be able to deliver on the company's sustainability aspirations and plan.
Support bid submission teams in preparing responses to the environmental & sustainability requirements.
Identify and deliver on additional sustainability consultancy services as agreed with the Head of Sustainability or Senior Sustainability Managers.
Accountable For
Represent the company on various industry or client fora and improving the company reputation through external liaisons and presentations.
Support monitoring and measurement programmes to ensure data on environmental and sustainability metrics are collected, collated and analysed for upward reporting.
Facilitate effective internal coordination networks with other sustainability advocates across the organisation
Working collaboratively with the Sustainability group and other staff to achieve desired sustainability outcomes and obtain, analyse and scrutinise performance feedback from projects and supply chain partners as required.
Work closely with project staff and the on site environmental coordinators to ensure management systems are properly implemented, and that specific issues and actions from the company sustainability plan are properly addressed on the projects
Key Performance Indicators
Timely and accurate reporting of applicable sustainability metric data from projects and offices within their jurisdiction.
Maintenance of the corporate ISO14001 certification
Achievement of the corporate sustainability targets

Knowledge/Experience of working in Construction or related Industry would be desirable
Knowledge/Experience of Green Building Design would be desirable

Professional qualifications
Educated to degree level or vocational training in an environmental science or related subject or equivalent
Advanced auditor training (IEMA 5 Day EMS course) or equivalent
Qualified / Licensed BREEAM / Code for Sustainable Homes Assessor
Membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g. CEnv, IEMA, etc)
